Our Sustainable
Eco-Feed Meat

Our selected range comes exclusively from priority, at risk* rare breeds.

Our selected range comes exclusively from ‘priority, at risk’* rare breeds.

You may ask: why is this?

The reason is that these animals secure biodiversity, have a lesser impact on the ecosystem, and underpin the quality and relevance of native livestock breeds for future generations.

Welsh Mountain

A group of hardy breeds able to survive on sparse grazing and in harsh conditions. They produce exceptionally high-quality meat with a dense, fine texture and excellent flavour.

Available as lamb and hogget and very occasionally mutton.

Primitives

Specifically those deriving from the bronze age feral colonies. Athletic and nimble, resistant to

disease and able to graze on low grade pasture to restore it and bring it back into use for heavier breeds.

Primitives produce a unique meat, rich, gamey, fine-textured and naturally low in cholesterol.

Available as lamb, hogget and mutton and seasonally our exclusive whole milk/spring lambs.

Longwools

Historically the backbone of the British wool and mutton industries, they have prolific soft fleeces and large frames. The meat is prized by chefs and epicureans because of its depth of flavour.

In keeping with tradition, our longwools are only available as mutton.

*As classified by the Rare Breeds Survival Trust www.rbst.org.

Good to Know

All flocks are raised on natural, unadulterated pasture and complemented by sustainable, balanced feed, designed to support low intensity farming.

The feed is rich in essential trace elements, the only one 100% free from Soy and with certified non-GM ingredients.

We are confident that our “free-from”, sustainable eco-feed approach not only restores the economic relevance of these rare breeds, but takes the richness of flavour and umami profile of our selected range of meats to a whole new level.
